With more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, his work has focused extensively on research, development, and innovation, with particular emphasis on bringing value-added medicines from concept to market.

In his role, João Serra is responsible for strategic project definition, pharmaceutical development, intellectual property strategy, and regulatory approval, ensuring alignment between scientific innovation and business objectives. He has a strong track record in building, leading, and managing multidisciplinary scientific teams and complex development programs.

His expertise spans several critical areas, including pharmaceutical development and technology, with a focus on value-added medicines; chemistry research, particularly the discovery and development of new chemical entities addressing unmet clinical needs in infectious diseases; industrial property; and quality assurance to ensure compliance with the highest pharmaceutical quality standards.

João Serra is highly specialized in CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls), with broad experience across a wide range of dosage forms, including oral solid dosage forms, oral liquids, injectables, and other complex pharmaceutical products. His work has contributed to advancing innovative and high-quality therapeutic solutions within the pharmaceutical sector.
