Each applicant may submit more than one project if the projects are distinct in scope. Once submitted, applications cannot be modified. All applications must be written in English.

The application includes five parts:

  1. An online form with project information.
  2. A development roadmap in the form of a Gantt chart.
  3. A presentation of the project (max. 12 slides).
  4. A letter stating the applicants’ motivation and the collaboration sought.
  5. A video (max. 5 minutes) presenting the applicant(s) and the project.

Items 2, 3 and 4 are to be uploaded.

Evaluation occurs in three stages: screening, selection, and competition.

  1. Screening: Applications are screened for eligibility.
  2. Selection: Eligible applications are evaluated by industry professionals that shortlist applicants will be interviewed remotely and select up to 10 finalists for the final event
  3. Final event: The finalists present their projects at the final event, where a judging panel made of investors, corporates, academics and other relevant experts in the field will evaluate each project and select the winner.

Once screening has been completed, participants with submitted applications will be notified by e-mail about the results of the Screening process. Once the selection process has been completed participants will be notified by email if they are shortlisted for the interview or not. After all the interviews have been conducted participants will be notified by email if they were selected (or mot) to pitch at the final event.

rank of applicationsThroughout the Competition, the eligible applications will be reviewed and scored by two judging panels (selection and final event). Both panels will rank the applications based on:

1.1.    How innovative is the pharmaceutical technology presented?

1.2.    Does the project solve a significant problem or unmet need in the pharmaceutical sector?

1.3.    Is the technology based on sound scientific principles?

1.4.    Does the project offer unique or advanced technical features compared to existing solutions?

2.1.    How well does the project address a clear market need?

2.2.    Is there strong market demand or a large potential customer base for this solution?

2.3.    Is the competitive landscape well understood, and does the project have clear competitive advantages?

3.1.    Is the proposed solution feasible with the current resources, funding, and technology?

3.2.    Does the project have a clear and realistic plan for scaling up?

3.3.    What is the Technology Readiness Level (TRL), and does it align with the stated objectives?

4.1. Does the project have a solid IP strategy and sufficient protection in place?

4.2. Have regulatory and ethical considerations been addressed adequately?

5.1. Is the funding plan realistic and sufficient for achieving the project’s milestones?

5.2. Does the applicant demonstrate a good understanding of how the €100,000 prize will be used effectively?

6.1. Does the team have the necessary skills, experience, and expertise to execute the project successfully?

6.2. Has the team demonstrated a track record of success in similar projects or industries?

7.1.    Does the project align with the overall goals of the competition, such as fostering innovation in pharmaceutical technology?

8.1. What is the overall potential impact of the project on the pharmaceutical industry?

8.2. Would you recommend this project for the award?

9.1. How achievable is the proposed roadmap within the proposed time frame and with the allocated resources.

9.2. Are the milestones measurable and possible to be used as go / no-go decision points.
