João Seixas

João Seixas is a chemist and entrepreneur with a diverse background in both industry and academia.

After graduating in Chemistry from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2003, he spent over 9 years at biotech company Alfama, progressing from Research Scientist to Team Leader while earning an industrial PhD from Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica.

He then held research positions at GlaxoSmithKline's Tres Cantos OpenLab, Galchimia, and a joint appointment at the University of Cambridge and the Instituto de Medicina Molecular (iMM), where he was awarded a Marie Sklodowska-Curie IF.

In 2018, João co-founded Spartax Chemicals, focused on waste recycling technologies. He is currently CEO of TargTex, a company he co-founded in 2019, developing localized therapies for hard-to-treat tumors.
